THANKS TO ALL THAT CAME TO THE SHOW AT NOTES NEWTOWN
The show was recorded and some tracks will be posted here soon.
The band features some stellar performers such as Spencer Jones, and Brydon Stace sharing the duties on lead vocals. Both of these singers are regulars at many shows around Sydney. Both Spencer and Brydon have to be seen (and heard) to be believed. Check out Spencer doing “Mistreated” on Youtube, and while you’re there check out Brydon doing “Child in time” as well. On drums we have Dave (Paicey) Peck as always. Who else in Sydney could do such a magnificent job of recreating the venerable Ian Paice’s parts? The local Mr Lord himself, Dave Schlesinger. The redheaded ratbag, Andy Payne on bass, and Brent Dehn on guitar (with authentic 70’s Hair, Marshall, and Statocaster).
Relive your favourite Purple moments from
“Machine head”, Made in Japan”,
“Come taste the band”, “Burn”and more.
All played as authentically as humanly possible.
For the love of Purple?...You betcha!
********************
"For the love of Purple" is a tribute show that was created in 2007 for a handful of one off gigs by a bunch of Sydney muso's who are Deep Purple fans.
The Deep Purple experience has been faithfully and painstakingly recreated as closely as possible to the originals.
We use studio versions as a template but where there have been some killer live versions to call from (such as the epic "Made in Japan") we will use those versions as our template. Accuracy is always our first priority.
Being fans of the band has meant that the depth of our knowledge of all known versions of the songs is able to be put to full use.
This is a show meant for the fans of Deep Purple, by fans of Deep Purple.
We have placed many of the video's of the shows on Youtube for perusal by anyone who's interested. The feedback left on the songs is a testament in itself.
Please enjoy.
